Overview

Ironbond is looking for an experienced HSE Officer to join our team on major roads, bridges, and infrastructure works in the UAE. In this role, you will Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across infrastructure maintenance projects. The role ensures full compliance with HSE standards and applicable UAE HSE legislation while promoting a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel, and that site safety practices comply with company policy, client requirements, and prevailing HSE regulations across all project activities.

Responsible For
  • Implement the company's HSE Policy, HSE Plan, and applicable legislation; monitor HSE performance and targets and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure site safety requirements are fully met at all times.
  • Liaise with management and site teams on the implementation of safety measures.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.
  • Review Site Safety Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for all site activities; monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures.
  • Carry out routine HSE inspections and report findings to the Project Manager for immediate corrective action.
  • Prepare and submit monthly HSE inspection reports and statistics.
  • Conduct monthly site safety meetings, track outstanding actions, and issue minutes to all concerned parties.
  • Maintain permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness records.
  • Investigate incidents/accidents, communicate lessons learned, and follow up on corrective/preventive actions.
Additional Requirements
  • UAE Driving License.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health, or a construction-related Engineering degree, with recognized safety certifications.
  • Minimum 3 -5 years of experience as a Safety Officer/Engineer on Highway, Bridge, and Interchange construction projects in the UAE.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, Safety Diploma, First Aid, and Fire Safety.
  • Working knowledge of UAE Federal Laws, relevant Municipality Codes of Construction Safety Practice, and Work Zone Traffic Management requirements.
